Making our Roads Safer

The safety of District 9 roads and highways is a top priority to me.

The Glenn Hwy, the Richardson, the Denali, – even the Marine Highway to Whittier – our roads that were once wagon trails and dusty homestead pathways are now heavily traveled roads.

My professional expertise as a surveyor and road builder has impacted my public service. I worked hard for the Tonsina Hill on the Richardson hwy, which was just completed – and the new Trunk Road, and the round-about at Seldon and Lucille to name a few.

My friends and neighbors in Wolf Lake face danger every day at the deadly intersection of Bogard and Engstrom. On your behalf I am currently working with the Borough and DOT to get a short and long term fix in place.  It is unacceptable to leave this necessary improvement on the back burner.  That’s my top Valley road priority.  I’ll get it done just like I did with the Seldon & Lucille intersection.

As your Representative in 2015, I initiated a reroute of the Glenn Highway around Long Lake. It is currently being designed and when elected I will get it completed.  The West approach to the Chickaloon River bridge, which is now under construction, is also a project I worked to get rolling.

Repaving the Richardson Hwy near pump station 12 on the Richardson Highway is a project that has languished too long.  I will push it to completion along with passing lanes on the highway from Delta north.

Please contact me with highway concerns/suggestions.  Let’s get to work!
